The Land Trust Hires A New Director of Finance
We are pleased to welcome Ward Fansler as its new Director of Finance. Ward is a CPA and has served exclusively in nonprofit organizations for the past 15 years as Director of Finance, CFO or CEO in education, healthcare and conservation organizations with budgets ranging from $3.5 to $40 million.
Fansler is excited about the position and to contributing to the mission of the Truckee Donner Land Trust.
“My passion has always been with non-profits and serving those in need. The stewardship of our beautiful mountain landscapes for generations to come resonates with me”, says Fansler.
Truckee Donner Land Trust Elects New Leaders
The Truckee Donner Land Trust elected Anne Chadwick as president of the board of directors at its January 21, 2014 meeting.
“I’m excited and honored to join the leadership of this great Land Trust,” Chadwick said. “We’re pleased to have protected more than 33,000 acres in the region, proud of our stewardship, and optimistic about future projects. The work we do will benefit this community for many generations to come.”
The Land Trust’s mission is to preserve and protect scenic, historic, and recreational lands with high natural resource values in the greater Truckee Donner region. Recent projects include Royal Gorge, Weber Lake/Lacey Meadows, Donner Summit Canyon, and the Martis Valley. The Land Trust is investing in conservation, restoration, and public enjoyment of these beautiful properties.
The officers, elected to a one-year term, are:

The Truckee Donner Land Trust Receives National Recognition
The Land Trust was awarded accreditation in February of 2012 and is one of only 201 land trusts from across the country that has been awarded accreditation since the fall of 2008. Accredited land trusts are authorized to display a seal indicating to the public that they meet national standards for excellence, uphold the public trust and ensure that conservation efforts are permanent. The seal is a mark of distinction in land conservation.
Board of Directors Receives Award
The Land Trust Board of Directors received the "100% Board Giving Award" from the Community Foundation of Western Nevada in 2012 The Land Trust's Board has been recognized as exemplary and generous leaders in the field of philanthropy in supporting their organizations’ operating expenses.
